Furniture

My furniture is largely inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century, often referred to synonymously as Craftsman. Just as the Arts and Crafts movement was in backlash to the highly ornamental and machined creations of the preceding Victorian Era, these pieces are much simpler and largely hand-made, reflecting the skill and passion of the Craftsman.

Haupt Table

Haupt is the German word for "chief" or "principal".

Built to be a dining
or library/work table, the Haupt table is ready to serve as a principal gathering place for our family. The Haupt's massive 6-inch legs and 3-inch thick top exude strength and endurance while the 2-foot overhanging "wings" embrace the desire to take flight in pursuit of life's dreams and ambitions. The Haupt Table is the strongpoint around which we gather at the end of the night and prepare for the endeavors ahead.

Tenon Nightstand

The Tenon Nightstand gets its name from the abundance of exposed tenons in each leg.

In traditional mortise and tenon construction, tenons must be pegged or glued to prevent them from being pulled out of the mortise they are housed in. The Tenon Nightstand uses a rare form of wedged tenon whereby the outward pressure exerted by the shelf on the tenons, creates a wedge effect that keeps the rails and legs interlocked and provides this piece its rigidity and strength.

This edition was made with White Oak in a natural finish.
